Rewind: Our 9 favourite Instagram posts of 2018
It's not an exaggeration to say that we are all obsessed with Instagram and since 2018 is wrapping up, we thought, "Why not do a #Rewind post on the best of @lofficielmalaysia?".
From our exclusive with Kendall Jenner and Longchamp to our face-to-face encounter with Blackpink and Fazura's much buzzed KL Fashion Week show, we narrowed down 9 of the most popular posts on our Instagram – in terms of likes, comments and engagement combined.
See who made the top 9 cut this 2018!
To say K-Pop is a global phenomenon is quite the understatement. We have to admit that everything they touch turns to gold.
Placing first on our list this 2018 is our recent encounter with Blackpink's Rosé and Jisoo at the Coach Pre-Fall 2019 show in Shanghai.
With six bodyguards surrounding their perimeter, our digital editor was lucky enough to snap a couple of shots and was one of the first to post their looks on Instagram that night!
That was humongous buzz all over the Internet when Fazura walked the runway for the finale of her label Fazbulous.
Scoring the most #repost on Instagram for KL Fashion Week 2018, Fazura and Fazbulous were the only things everyone can talk for the entire weekend including Diet Prada!
Early September, we set out to Paris to celebrate Longchamp's 70th birthday at the stunning Palais Garnier.
Party aside, we also got to meet supermodel Kendall Jenner for an exclusive interview and we are one of the only five media given the opportunity worldwide!
Fashion Week is always a whirlwind affair for us and this year, Chanel took the crown for most spectacular set design with a seaside setting, fully filled with seawater, sand and even a wooden shack.
Our managing editor Monica Mong was there to witness it all.
Chanel aside, we also spotted a long list of Asian stars, from Blackpink's Jennie (Korea) to Neelofa (Malaysia) and Shu Qi (Taiwan), in our "40 Asian celebrities that shook Spring/Summer 2019 Fashion Week" feature.
A festive campaign done for Swarovski, in collaboration with Venice Min, our fashion director Jeffrey Yan took things into quite the quirky turn.
Venice is known for always looking pretty sweet, so we wanted to break that down and show her in a completely new light by going dark and undone.
"Never underestimate the dedication of K-Pop fans"– that was what our managing editor Monica learned on her trip to Arles, France for the Gucci Cruise 2019 show.
A small city in the Southern tip of France, Arles is not a commonly visited tourist spot and the show venue, Promenade Des Alyscamps, has zero public transport access.
Even with all that obstacles, we were shocked by the army of EXO fans who turned up outside the venue – all to just get a glimpse of Kai, who is one of the main VIP celebrities of the night.
Another shoot styled by our fashion director Jeffrey, this time we worked with Marc Jacobs for its Autumn/Winter 2018 collection.
We wanted to capture the moody, smoky drama of the Marc Jacobs A/W'18 collection with this shoot, and transform these cool, modern girls (Nia and Lynn) with a little old-school glamour.
Shoot aside, we also produced an exclusive fashion film with the two models.
It was a chance encounter that day at the Longchamp Racecourse when our editor Monica was rushing into the Dior Spring/Summer 2019 show.
And right at the entrance stood Angelababy, one of the brand's first 'ambassador' for the China market, sporting a delicate black dress and the new Dior Saddle bag.
Of course, everyone whipped their phones out for a snap of the megawatt star.
Last but not least, we have the stunning Neelofa whom our digital editor Calvin travelled with to Shanghai.
In conjunction of the Gucci Spring/Summer 2019 presentation, we also dropped a visit to the Gucci "The Artist Is Present" exhibition at Yuz Museum and the one-of-a-kind Gucci Art Wall on the streets of Mao Ming Bei Lu.
Thank you for the love you've shown us and we look forward to your support in the coming 2019!
