Despite a restless year, the firm and steady progress of LGBTQ+ rights around the world is definitely worth toasting.

In September 2020, Hong Kong high court ruled that same-sex couples are protected under its inheritance and intestacy laws. This February, Bhutan declared that homosexuality is no longer a crime in the country, while the European Parliament announced the European Union as a freedom zone for the LGBTIQ community later in March.

Last month, Taiwan celebrated the second anniversary of the legalisation of same-sex marriage; president Joe Biden reversed a Trump-era policy of allowing healthcare organisations to turn down coverage for gay and transgender people. And this year, designers continue to show their support towards the LGBTQ+ community by increasing understandings and raising funds for the related organisations and initiatives.

Coach launches “Pride Is Where You Find It” campaign and a new episode of Coach Conversations fronted by Bob the Drag Queen and more, featuring a selection of classic models rendered in a rainbow palette.

Meanwhile, Versace partners with Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation to release the Born This Way collection, which includes a replica of the leather jacket the singer wore during her Born This Way Ball tour in 2012. The jacket that took Versace’s atelier 400 hours to create will be up for auction and all proceeds will go directly to the Born This Way Foundation.

So will you join in the rainbow celebration?
