CL joins the committee of LVMH Prize Experts for 2024 edition
Before the plethora of K-Pop artists appearing at fashion week in recent years, there was CL of 2NE1!
K-Pop and fashion are synonymous today. One cannot exist without the other, evidently seen across all major fashion weeks, brands ambassadorship and event appearances including the most legendary Met Gala.
But before the plethora of K-Pop artists making their debut with luxury fashion brands in the past few years, there were a few iconic legends who are pioneers in fashion and one of them is CL of 2NE1 (@chaelincl).
Now, this legend has gained another title to her belt as she joins the committee of experts for the LVMH Prize, making her the first K-Pop artist to make the list.
A legend in both music and fashion, CL is no stranger to the front row seats at fashion week who has made appearances at numerous shows from Chanel and Schiaparelli to Moschino, Alexander Wang, Tory Burch, Balenciaga and more.
She is also one of the two first K-Pop artists, alongside Blackpink's Rosé to attend the prestigious Met Gala in 2021 for the theme "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion", where she donned the iconic all-denim Alexander Wang look.
To list down her fashion achievements will take days, even weeks. But if there is one thing we know and love about this legend, it is her passion for supporting young and emerging talents, whom she worked with for countless projects including her music videos.
For the 2024 edition of the prestigious prize, CL will be joining as part of the LVMH Prize Committee of Experts for the semi-finals, where she will take part in choosing the eight finalists for the prize from the list of 20 designers/brands on 29th February and 1st March 2024.
Other experts within the committee include Naomi Campbell Suzy Menkes, Imran Amed, Ferdinandi Verderi, Hans Ulrich Obrist and Stavros Karelis.
