Colette is closing down after 20 years

The end of our favourite Parisian store marks the end of an era after 20 fabulous years.

It goes without saying that everytime when we (and everyone in fashion) are in Paris, a shopping trip to Colette on 213 rue Saint-Honoré is a must.

But that might not be the case anymore as Colette has announced its imminent closing this coming 20th December, after 20 years of business.

In a statement posted on Colette's Instagram (@colette), it writes, "After twenty wonderful years, Colette should be closing its doors on December 20th of this year."

"Colette Roussaux has reached the time when she would like to take her time; and Colette cannot exist without Colette."

"Until our last day, nothing will change. Colette will continue to renew itself each week with exclusive collaborations and offerings."

And within the statement, Colette also mentions that it is in negotiations right now for Saint Laurent to take over their retail space on rue Saint-Honoré.

While the news brings much sadness to all of us, Colette has assured us that things will not change until the last day of their operations including their weekly store display takeovers and designer collaborations.

In the same statement, it says, "Until our last day, nothing will change. Colette will continue to renew itself each week with exclusive collaborations and offerings, also available on our website colette.fr."

So you know what that means? Our next trip there will be a massive shopping trip to snatch everything we love.

And if you are there right now, be sure to check out the Balenciaga takeover, which lasts untill 5th August 2017.
