Dior Spring/Summer 2021 campaign captured in the art of Chiaroscuro
As the world is experiencing a period of uncertain time that drastically changes our ritual, including the way we dress and express, Maria Grazia Chiuri’s true-to-life approach to Dior's ready-to-wear is reflecting the present more than ever.
Maria Grazia Chiuri draws inspiration from women – Virginia Woolf and Susan Sontag – who illuminate life and emotion through writing for the Dior Spring/Summer 2021 collection, featuring pieces that respond to the needs of modern-day apparels juxtaposed with its couture silhouettes.
The iconic Bar jacket is reinterpreted in ribbed knit virgin wool to create a heathered denim look, while the signature men’s shirt marries the Palto jacket to result in airy tailoring that liberates movement as much as it delivers intimacy.
Through the lens of photographer Elina Kechicheva, Dior S/S 2021 collection is captured in a Caravaggio-inspired campaign where a divine aura of mystery strongly diffused. From the embroideries to paisley and floral motifs, all the details that embody Dior’s exceptional savoir-faire stand out under the chiaroscuro treatment, accentuated by a palette of beaming gold, blue and red.
