Marc Jacobs x Vans pins the top spot for craziest sneakers of 2017
Designer collaborations are the "It" trend of 2017 and taking the top spot right now is the Marc Jacobs x Vans collaboration and we're only halfway through the year!
Collaborating with several Japanese and New Yorker artists, the designer recreates the iconic Vans canvas slip-ons with psychedelic twists involving pins, nails, sewing threads and autumn leaves.
Among the artists enlisted are Milk (the famed drag queen of RuPaul's Drag Race), Jazzelle Zanaughtti, Julie Verhoeven and Ava Nirui, who have all added the most unconventional twists to the Vans kicks.

But before you hyperventilate from excitement, we have to mention the major catch to this collaboration.
Unfortunately for us, only the pair designed by Marc Jacobs will be available for sale – the pair with plain black line drawings (see below) –, which you can decorate yourselves to your liking.
Which means the ones you've seen above are one-of-a-kind pieces that are not-for-sale (right now, at least).
Limited to less than 200 pairs worldwide, the Marc Jacobs x Vans slip-ons will only be available for sale in Japan and New York City stores from 16th June 2017 onwards.
And if you are the lucky few who managed to snatch a pair, you will also get a set of Marc Jacobs x Sharpie pens to further customise your shoe.
For those who don't live in those cities, don't worry because Marc Jacobs are giving away the shoes on its official website (www.marcjacobs.com)!
You can thank us later when you have won the shoes (and maybe we can buy them off from you).
