Coach is making waves in Malaysia with the launch of Coach Play APW, nestled in the laid-back neighbourhood of Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur. This fresh concept builds on Coach's knack for creating sensory, interactive experiences that speak to the expressive spirit of today’s generation.
Located in the historic A Place Where (APW), a former factory-turned-lifestyle hub, Coach Play APW fuses heritage charm with the brand’s playful, self-expressive vibe. The result? A 3,280-square-foot immersive retail space that celebrates craftsmanship and creativity. A standout feature is The Coach Coffee Shop, marking only the second of its kind globally.
Step inside, and you're welcomed by a distinctive Coach Play APW logo, merging the stories of both Coach and APW in a single, striking design. The retro-inspired posters adorning the space capture the history of both icons, available for customers to take home as collectable pieces. Just a few steps further, you’ll discover the Tabby Shop, featuring Coach’s latest Tabby collection set against playful neon lights and vibrant design elements, a nod to APW’s printing legacy.
Coach Play APW ups the ante with its first-ever global interactive screen-printing service, where visitors can snag T-shirts or tote bags and customize them with one of ten eye-catching designs inspired by vintage Coach ads. These designs come in four different colourways, adding a fun, personal touch to your purchase.
Then there’s the Coach Create Bar, offering complimentary monogramming for hang tags, alongside a curated selection of pins and embellishments available for purchase. Adjacent to the bar is the Archive Room, showcasing a unique fusion of Coach’s leather craftsmanship and APW’s printing artistry, with local stamps and graphics from The Royal Press Museum in Malacca alongside digital arts on display.
Making its Malaysian debut is Coachtopia, Coach’s cutting-edge lab focused on innovation and circular fashion. Each piece in the Coachtopia collection is crafted from recycled, repurposed, and renewable materials, originally used in Coach’s leather bags. The best part? Every item is embedded with NFC chips that reveal the story behind the sourcing and crafting process, offering a deep dive into the sustainable journey of each bag.
Before you head out, don’t miss The Coach Coffee Shop. This cosy spot serves up speciality coffee and a curated menu of American-inspired all-day breakfasts, sandwiches, pastries, and desserts, all made in-house. Highlights include savory bites like the Pastrami Sandwich on rye and Ricotta Toast with honey and sea salt, while sweet-toothed visitors can indulge in maple-glazed crullers and cinnamon rolls. Drinks come with Coach’s signature “C” ice cubes, and the soft serve, available in four playful flavours like Peanut Butter & Jelly and Pepperoni Pizza, is a must-try for adventurous palates.
