Timberland partnes with Edison Chen for sustainable fashion
The actor-cum-designer gives the outdoor brand’s signature pieces a fashionable twist.
Did you know that the Timberland Original Boot has been around for half a century this year? To celebrate the important milestone, the outdoor brand has launched a new project dubbed Future73 — a partnership with six creatives across the globe to reimagine the iconic footwear as well as introducing new clothing designs. The first drop is created by CLOT’s founder and creative director Edison Chen.
“Being able to work with Timberland on Future73 has been an exciting adventure,” says Edison Chen, founder and creative director of CLOT. “Trying to figure out ways to create products more intellectually; from a perspective of loving the Earth; that not only speaks to the kids but also to the kids’ kids.”
Made with sustainability in mind, the line-up features clothing separates in a rugged “grape leaf” shade, made for the “urban ninja”. From utilitarian overshirt and cargo pants to fashionable Kimono-inspired coat and quilted wrap, the pieces reference the streetwear label’s East-meets-West ethos. The two pairs of 6-inch Boots elevate things further, incorporating tiger striped camouflage print that pays homage to the king of the jungle. Take a closer look and you’ll notice the ancient Chinese saying that translates to “If this exists, that exists; if this ceases to exist, that also ceases to exist.”
The Timberland x Edison Chen Future73 collection is now available at Timberland Pavilion and Sunway Pyramid.
