The Maison expands its astrology-themed collection — first introduced in the 1950s — with these luminous new offerings.
French jeweller Van Cleef & Arpels has always been fascinated by the stars, and their latest collection carries on that fascination.
The Zodiaque Collections introduces a range of Art Deco-inspired pendants inspired by the 12 Western astrological signs.
The pendants come with the character of each sign crafted in rose gold in the foreground, while precious stones that evoke one of the four elements occupy the background, imparting a graphic, three-dimensional quality to each creation.
Special care was taken to marry symbols unique to each astrological sign; for instance, the trio of fire signs (Aries, Sagittarius, Leo) were assigned graphic, magma-toned materials — iron eye, red pietersite, and red jasper respectively — to create a setting that was both mesmerising and symbolic to each sign.
For those who prefer sleeker, more understated look, the Maison also offers the 12 pendants in yellow gold, a material that lends the creation a decidedly retro-luxe feel.
