Van Cleef & Arpels expands the Frivole collection with six stunning novelties
A breath of fresh air is always a given whenever one steps into the manicured garden at Van Cleef & Arpels. This season is no different. In a never-ceasing celebration of the vitality of nature, the maison has expanded its Frivole collection with another poetic tribute that sees six new creations blossoming into existence.
Fashioned in precious rose gold which first appeared in the Frivole family last year, the earrings, pendant necklaces, chain bracelet as well as the open-band Between the Finger ring exude the warmth and radiance of nature, and boast those signature slightly curved, heart-shaped petals that unfurl around a diamond pistil.
The three-dimensional silhouette that has become a staple in the upper echelons of fine jewellery is a testament to the unrivalled know-how of Van Cleef & Arpels. Conveying a sense of realism while holding on to the perennial floral fantasy, the pieces have been moulded into modern works of art, thanks to the jeweller’s bottomless bag of tricks and techniques.
From the openwork design—which entails a perforation of the gold structure to bring out the spectacular sparkle of diamonds—to the use of grain setting in the small-sized pendant and earrings that accords them stunning glitter, the jewellery house has spared no expense in creating each novelty, lavishing it with an effect of brilliance and then some.
Just take a look at the series of short films that further highlight the exceptional qualities of the new Frivole. Exploring the world of flowers, French multi-disciplinary artist Alexandre Benjamin Navet dreams up a playful and multicoloured universe—one that evokes the feel of a sketchbook—in which the effervescent Frivole is always in full bloom.
