Before this month, we all had to fly out of the country to get our whiff of Le Labo (the nearest being in Thailand, which is sold in King Power Rangnam), but now, Malaysia has become the first in the region to house a standalone Le Labo boutique, which also features its iconic perfumery lab that creates made-to-order fragrances!
Finding its home in Suria KLCC, Le Labo has officially opened its doors with zero fanfare and publicity – a lowkey approach that is true to the brand's DNA.
With a collection that ranges from fine fragrances to home scents, skincare and grooming, Le Labo prides itself for unique scents unlike any other. With each scent made to fit a story (instead of just giving you the notes on the ingredients) to take its users into a different world, Le Labo is on a class of its own and is a vegan-friendly brand.
Take Santal 33 as an example. This best-seller and cult favourite within the Le Labo creations has this excerpt on its description… "Do you remember the old Marlboro ads? A man and his horse in front of the fire on a great plain under tall, blue evening skies.
And what makes each Le Labo fragrance unique when you purchase in its many standalone boutiques is the way they freshly hand-blend each bottle in store upon customer's request/order. Nothing is premade in advance and each unique to its own, unlike certain retailers and department stores that stock the brand.
All you need to do is test the fragrances, pick your choice and they will hand-blend a fresh bottle for you within minutes. A fun fact, the fresh bottle of Le Labo you buy at the boutique will need to be stored for about 14 days before you can unseal and use it because time is needed for the many ingredients and oil within the concoction to be perfectly fused!.
