There’s an air of warmth when you’re in the presence of Eyka Farhana. The actress, who charms with her petite frame and sweet demeanour, is always all smiles — even throughout our seven-hour shoot. Having been in the entertainment industry for 15 years, the 30-year-old star has solidified her place as one of the most sought-after actresses today. From films and telefilms to TV dramas and web series, Eyka remains in high demand, with five projects lined up so far. But perhaps her biggest “project” of all? Her upcoming wedding to national football player Akhyar Rashid.

Below, we talk about wedding bells, career milestones, and a decade and a half in the entertainment industry.

L’OFFICIEL: Hi Eyka! How has 2025 been for you so far?

EYKA FARHANA: 2025 has had its ups and downs, but overall, I feel really optimistic. Work has been steady, and I’ve taken on a few roles that have pushed me outside my comfort zone. Personally, I’ve been focusing on growth — building healthier habits, spending more time with loved ones, and just trying to be more present in the moment.

LO: You are set to get married next month — congratulations in advance! Tell us more about your husband-to-be, Akhyar Rashid.

EF: Thank you so much! I’m really excited. My fiancé is incredibly supportive — he grounds me, especially in an industry that can feel so unpredictable. He’s not in the entertainment world, which I actually love because it brings a nice balance to my life. He’s amazing — he calms me down when I’m stressed, he can be silly when I need a laugh, and most importantly, he always shows up for me. Planning a wedding while juggling work has been a challenge, but he’s been the best partner through it all. I honestly can’t wait to marry him.

LO: Can you give us a little insight into your upcoming wedding?

EF: It’s going to be simple, joyful, and very ‘us.’ We’ve really focused on making sure every moment feels authentic, good food, great company, and a whole lot of love. That’s what matters most to us.

LO: Both of you have demanding careers in entertainment and sports. How do you support and balance each other’s schedules?

EF: It can be a juggle sometimes, but we’ve learnt to really respect each other’s time and space. We both understand what it means to chase your passion — the odd hours, the travel and the unpredictability. Communication and flexibility are key for us, and no matter how busy things get, we always make time to reconnect.

LO: You’ve been in the entertainment industry since you were 15. Looking back, how do you think you’ve evolved as an actress and public figure?

EF: Honestly, I’ve grown up alongside my career. I’ve made mistakes, learnt tough lessons, and had moments where I had to rebuild my confidence. But all of that has helped me become more grounded — not just in my work, but in who I am as a person. I’m still learning, still evolving, but with a lot more clarity and heart.

LO: From dramatic roles in Juvana to more modern ones in Pretty Little Liars, what kind of role do you find the most challenging and why?

EF: I love the variety! jumping from something gritty like Juvana to a more stylised, modern series like Pretty Little Liars keeps things exciting. I had to learn to speak in Indonesian for the latter, which was challenging. But I’d say the dramatic roles are often more demanding because they require such emotional stamina. You have to stay fully present, scene after scene, and sometimes that means carrying those emotions with you even after the cameras stop rolling.

LO: In an industry that can sometimes be unforgiving, how do you stay grounded and true to yourself?

EF: I’ve learnt over the years that staying grounded isn’t a one-time thing — it’s a daily practice. For me, it’s about surrounding myself with people who truly know me outside of the industry, the ones who remind me of who I am when all the lights and cameras are off. I also make time for stillness, journaling, and just being present in the moment.

LO: What is the biggest lesson you’ve learnt from your career?

EF: That it’s okay to not have it all figured out. Growth takes time, but it’s never wrong to trust my instincts! They’ve always guided me better than any advice I’ve received.

LO: How would you describe your personal style, and has it changed over the years?

EF: Minimal, chic and comfortable. Over the years, I’ve learnt that confidence is the best accessory.

LO: This month’s theme is “Breakthrough.” Looking back, what was the defining moment in your career that felt like a real breakthrough?

EF: Landing Juvana was a huge turning point for me. It challenged me as an actress and gave me the visibility that really opened doors.

LO: You’ve accomplished so much already, but what’s one goal you have yet to achieve in your career?

EF: I’d love to take on a truly transformative role — something that pushes me beyond anything I’ve done before.

LO: If you could give one piece of advice to your younger self — when you were just starting in the industry — what would it be?

EF: You don’t have to be everything to everyone. Focus on being true to yourself, and everything else will fall into place. Your voice matters, your journey is valid, and your dreams are worth the fight.
