As these Covid-19 lockdowns have rolled from weeks into months, taking a walk in the park (while keeping at a safe distance, we must remind you) becomes a daily essential to many. Considering the current MCO policies, Gucci’s new digital campaign could not come at a better time.

Creative director Alessandro Michele enlists three British talents: actor Vanessa Kirby; singer-songwriter Celeste and fashion designer/TV personality Alexa Chung in this series of digital portraits entitled “Winter in The Park”.

Photographed by Angelo Penetta, the images capture “a moment of reconnection with nature and a moment of personal peace” while showing off some of Gucci’s most beloved accessories in the great outdoors.

You’d probably recognise the GG Marmont soft leather matelassé bag, detailed with the same ’70s-inspired Double G in hardware; the Jackie 1961 — the updated version of the famous hobo model that was first presented in the ’60s; the Gucci Horsebit 1955 — an interpretation of an archive piece, complete with the famous equestrian-inspired detail of a double ring and bar; and the Dionysus Bag — a style first presented at the Women’s Fall/Winter 2015 fashion show distinguished by a striking double tiger-head closure, a reference to the Greek god Dionysus.

The trio also don a selection of pieces from Gucci’s Epilogue collection ranging from colourful patterned co-ords, ’70s ladylike dresses, garish oversized sunnies and classic coats bearing the brand’s double G insignia. While dressing up like that to take a walk in the Perdana Botanical Park or KLCC Park might seem a bit far-fetched, it just goes to show how exciting fashion can be when you add a bit of funk and flair.
