Ferragamo’s Pre-Fall 2024 collection is as real as it is fantastical

Viewed through a summery lens, Ferragamo’s Pre-Fall 2024 campaign by Harley Weir captures the sartorial language of Maximilian Davis and the vision he has for the house. “We wanted to play with the idea of fantasy and reality,” shares the designer, “and Harley is someone who can express something that is both very real and very magical.”

From ready-to-wear to shoes and bags, this summer wardrobe is made for long days and even longer dusks spent on the beach. It’s effortlessly contemporary, with unmistakable heritage of Ferragamo interwoven throughout. “It’s about looking at the wardrobe,” says Davis. “About it feeling identifiable, and exploring the elements and signifiers we’ve developed throughout my time here, in a fresh, new way.”

RAFFIA DETAILS

An early staple of Ferragamo, raffia is translated into mules, leather-lined woven shoppers, and cut-out totes for a laid-back accent while keeping it chic.

LUCIO VENNA EMBROIDERY

Ferragamo’s mastery of juxtaposing mundanity with creativity is what inspired Davis to bring back its collaboration with Lucio Venna for this collection. "By incorporating Lucio Venna's original artwork from the late 1920s, everyday items are elevated with the brand's rich history,” explains Davis. “Ferragamo and Venna's collaboration transcended product-focused artwork, focusing instead on creating compelling imagery. This collaboration piqued my interest in a period when Italians used art as a rebellious form of expression."

THE NEW VARA

Ferragamo knows its ballerina. Reimagined with new proportions — elongated last and toe — and an enlarged bow, the house’s classic is ready to meet a new generation of its devotees.
