Roger Vivier channels a modern fairytale in its Spring/Summer 2024 campaign

Transport yourself into a realm of modern enchantment with Roger Vivier’s Spring/Summer 2024 campaign, shot at Château de Champlâtreux, an 18th-century castle designed by architect Jean-Michel Chevotet. Starring Marion Barbeau, the French ballerina-cum-actress who’s the first soloist at the Paris Opera, the imagery portrays Barbeau in a chic yet rebellious demeanour, complete with an air of mischief. Whether it’s in the greenery of the gardens or lounging in the rooms with Baroque and Rocco decorations, the 32-year-old daydreams in style.
Adorning her looks are bags and shoes from the Spring/Summer 2024 collection. When it comes to the former, the crystal squared buckles on the Flower Strass Jewel bags continue to be an enduring icon, and the puffy Viv’ Choc bag lends that extra dreamy touch to the overall vibe. The sweetheart necklines from the ballerinas and pumps from the I Love Vivier line stand out with the addition of the interlacing details in metallic, while the retro yet elegant Belle Vivier shoes now come in candyfloss shades of lilac, yellow, green and sky blue.
The highlight of the collection lies in the Viv’ Canard shoe that was first introduced by the Maison’s founder back in the 1950s. Sporting a tip that references the beak of a duck, the pump, often delicately embroidered and more angular in the past, is reinterpreted by Gherardo Felloni and features a more elongated silhouette and exudes that graceful flair. Crafted in satin, patent leather or covered in shimmering sequins, the pointy-toe design is characterised by the cut-out that results from the added strap at the front. Details including rhinestone-covered square buckles or crystal trails at the side of the shoe amp up the style ante, while the low, kitten heel makes it the perfect pick for both day and night.
