#MetHeavenlyBodies: Let’s talk about the extravagant headdresses
Themed ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and Catholic Imagination’, celebrities honoured the MET Gala 2018 with a myriad of crowns, wreaths, halos and veils, which made the night a fashion-religion moment.
From Rihanna's bishop mitre to Cardi B's majestic crown and Lily Collins's black metal halo, headdresses were the crowning glory of the MET Gala 2018.
And here are the headpieces that stole the crown at the MET:
The Met Gala Queen (and co-chair) outdid herself this year, again, with a silver pearl encrusted 'mitre' (a ceremonial headdress for bishops) by Maison Margiela by John Galliano.
Bringing a golden ray of delight to the red carpet, Sarah Jessica Parker (the OG fashion girl) wears a gilded Neapolitan nativity altar mounted with a sacred heart at the top from Dolce & Gabbana.
Madonna channels her '80s days in a Jean Paul Gaultier ball gown, veiling herself beneath a tiara of jewelled crosses with black net veil, created by Indonesian designer Rinaldy Yunardi.
The mom-to-be rapper wears a majestic-heavenly crown and a matching cream gown from Moschino by Jeremy Scott.
According to the designer, the pearls and rhinestones covered crown took four weeks to create and was a last-minute decision of Cardi at her final fitting.
Rita Ora makes a gothic-chic entrance wearing semi-sheer Prada gown.
The blonde adorns her waist-length hair with a dark roses crown with spikes, which is all-handmade by her hairstylist!
Going minimalist with her shimmering Ralph Lauren gown, supermodel Rosie tucked a simple, yet delicate golden halo into her hairdo to complete the chicest angelic look.
Truly fitting for the Victoria's Secret Angel.
Portraying 'Our Lady of Sorrows', Lana Del Rey shows up with an angel-winged halo embellished with bijoux from Gucci, looking ever radiant and goddess-like.
Lily Collins top her Givenchy look with a black metal halo by Clare Waight Keller, giving us a princess-from-the dark-side realness.
The "Triple Crown of Acting " actress Frances McDormand showed up at the red carpet with a magnificent turquoise Phillip Treacy headpiece, matching her gown from the Valentino 2018 Couture show.
Cara wore an all-black Dior beaded crown with long fringes, making a perfect match with her purple-dyed hair, scarlet lips and golden eyeshadow.
And can we just say that she looks like she came straight from a Game of Thrones set?
