Giorgio Armani reopens Armani/Silos and its Peter Lindbergh exhibition in Milan
Giorgio Armani announces the reopening of Armani/Silos in Milan and the extended duration of Heimat. A Sense of Belonging exhibition. The exhibition dedicated to legendary photographer Peter Lindbergh is now extended until 10th January 2021.
Curated by Giorgio Armani and Peter Lindbergh Foundation, Heimat. A Sense of Belonging is an ode to the unparalleled force between two visionaries whose legacy has greatly influenced our generation. The appreciation of each other’s visions and works had made them close comrades since the Eighties.
“I have always admired Peter for the consistency and intensity of his work. Timelessness is a quality I personally aspire to, and one that Peter definitely possessed. With this exhibition at Armani/Silos I want to pay tribute to a wonderful professional companion whose love for beauty represents an indelible contribution to our culture, not just to fashion”
– Giorgio Armani.
Heimat. A Sense of Belonging is composed of three different sections — The Naked Truth, Heimat and The Modern Heroine. From a selection of Peter Lindbergh’s known and lesser-known works to the inspirations behind each of his works, the exhibition delves into the photographer’s powerful storytelling and his idea of the modern heroine.
The re-opening of the exhibition space and bookshop will comply with all the precautionary measures put in place by the authorities, such as maintaining a distance of 1 metre from other people within the venue, and the obligatory use of face masks for visitors and staff. Entrance will only be permitted following a body temperature measurement. Guided tours and access to the cafeteria are temporarily suspended.
