Lee Minho, Ahn Hyoseop and Jisoo to star in Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint film
Let's meet the cast for this film adaptation of the popular Korean web novel and see what each character's backstory is.
One of the most popular web novels and webtoon series from South Korea, Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint is set to get a film adaptation featuring a star-studded cast of actors including Lee Minho, Ahn Hyoseop, Jisoo and more.
When news first broke in 2023 with speculations of the actors cast for the film, the K-world was buzzing with great excitement. Directed by Kim Byung Woo (The Terror Live and Take Point) in partnership with REALIES Picture (the company behind Along With The Gods series), the filming has begun since December 2023.
While we wait with bated breath for more updates, the production has released a series of images confirming the main cast including Lee Min Ho, Ahn Hyo Seop, Chae Soo Bin, Shin Seung Ho, Nana, Park Ho San and BLACKPINK’s Jisoo.
The story follows the protagonist, Kim Dokja (played by Ahn Hyoseop), as he discovers that the fictional world he has been reading about is becoming reality.
As he faces challenges and interacts with characters from the novel including the main character Yoo Joonghyuk (played by Lee Minho), Kim Dokja strives to navigate the unpredictable narrative and uncover the mysteries behind the convergence of fiction and reality where the cast needs to clear scenario missions with the help on constellations that represents the world's mythologies, folklore and legends.
From Greek gods to historical figures from Korean history and prominent folklore beings, these constellations play an important role in helping Kim Dokja brave through the story.
And without further ado, let us introduce the cast and their characters based on what we know from the novel and webtoon so far.

KIM DOKJA (AHN HYOSEOP)
Initially, an ordinary office worker, Kim Dokja discovers that the fictional world from his favourite novel "Ways of Survival" is manifesting in reality. As he navigates the challenges of this surreal convergence with his knowledge of the main plot, Kim Dokja grapples with the complexities of fate, free will, and his own role in the unfolding narrative as he meets his favourite character from the novel Yoo Joonghyuk along with other prominent figures from the novel.
YOO JOONGHYUK (LEE MINHO)
In "Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint," Yoo Joonghyuk is an omni-powerful key character who accompanies Kim Dokja on his journey through the converging realms of fiction and reality. As the protagonist of the novel, who is a regressor, that has come to life, Yoo Joonghyuk plays a significant role in unravelling the mysteries surrounding their intertwined destinies. Between Yoo Joonghyuk and Kim Dokja, expect great banter and action that balances finely between friendship and hostility.
LEE JIHYE (JISOO)
A powerful teen swordswoman who has a dark past and is traumatised by guilt from the first scenario mission, Lee Jihye idolises Yoo Joonghyuk and joins the crew to take on the scenario missions thrown at them. Rebellious and reckless at first sight, the character shows a humane and kind side as the story unravels. Backed by a powerful war constellation from Korean legends, she is adept in sword fights and marine battles.
YOO SANGAH (CHAE SOO BIN)
Kim Dokja's colleague and friend, Yoo Sangah is a kind and beautiful character who is thrown into the scenario with Dokja. With a calm personality and great adaptability, she plays a pivotal role in helping Dokja through the scenarios as one of the people who are not from the original novel "Ways of Survival". She shows great promise as someone who has received great power and abilities from the Greek gods.
LEE HYUNSUNG (SHIN SEUNGHO)
One of the leading characters that came from the novel read by Kim Dokja, Lee Hyunsung is a former military officer who joined the main cast in the first mission. Portrayed as a straightforward and earnest man, Lee Hyunsung is a loyal companion of Dokja that always extends a helping hand to those in need throughout the storyline.
JUNG HEEWON (NANA)
Sponsored by one of the most prominent Goddess of Justice in mythology, Jung Heewon was a victim of abuse who was saved by Kim Dokja and turned into a powerful prosecutor who is not afraid to swing her blade in the name of justice and humanity. Feisty by nature, she shows great combat prowess and a sense of justice.
Gong Pildu (Park Hosan)
Started as one of the antagonist, Gong Pildu controls the people in his scenario mission with his wealth and power. Known as one of the "Ten Evils" in Kim Dokja's favourite novel, this villain is met with a different fate after his encounter with Dokja and gets thrown into a series of trials and tribulations.
While the film has not announced its release date, the filming has already begun in December 2023.
