Catherine Deneuve and the house of Saint Laurent has had a very long standing relationship. They first met in 1965 through Catherine's husband David Bailey and she chose Monsieur Yves Saint Laurent to dress her for her first meeting with the Queen of England.

From then, the two had an inseparable and enduring relationship. Monsieur Saint Laurent once said, "We write to each other often. I call her ‘Catherine, my sweet,’ and she sends me pale-colored roses."

This relationship extends to the current house of Saint Laurent, leading to creative director Anthony Vaccarello to host a night honouring the legendary icon Catherine.

The dinner also highlighted an all-night screening where Catherine's greatest works including Mississippi Mermaid, The Hunger and Heartbeat were broadcast to all.

In a statement, Anthony Vaccarello says, "In each of the cinematic modes explored in this journey from the 1960s to the 1980s and back — drama, thriller and romance — Deneuve reveals a different notion of femininity."
