See which production reigns as the best screenplay of the century
“Get Out” has been voted the best screenplay of the century.
If you haven't seen Get Out, then what have you been doing for the last four years? In addition to being a beloved film and an Oscar winner, the film was recognized by the Writers Guild of America (WGA) as the best screenplay of the last 22 years. And it deserves no less.
Winner of the 2018 Academy Awards for Best Original Screenplay, it was written and directed by filmmaker and comedian Jordan Peele and tops the newly released list of "101 Greatest Screenplays of the 21st Century (So Far)."
Get Out is, without a doubt, much more than just another horror movie. The plot follows Chris (Daniel Kaluuya), a black man, and his relationship with his girlfriend Rose (Alison Williams), a white woman. Things start to get very suspicious when she takes him to meet her parents at their Upstate New York home. From there, in addition to frights, the film offers a reflection of modern racism in America.
In the recently released list, Get Out outranks a number of other great movies such as The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Parasite, and Moonlight.
