Unboxing the all-new Samsung Galaxy S22+
It may only be April but Samsung is already laying the groundwork for the impending best-of-the-year mentions with the unveiling of the Galaxy S22 series. Featuring three flagship devices—Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra—the new range is designed to inspire creativity and self-expression.
Curious to see if the latest entry lives up to the hype, we picked up the Samsung Galaxy S22+ and began putting it through its paces. Here’s our first impression:
On the face of it, the smartphone remains faithful to the Galaxy S series’ design aesthetic. The familiar, simple and flat form that harmonises technology and design is expectedly present in the model, as is the slightly raised triple camera arrangement introduced by its predecessor, much to our delight.
A slight trace on the smooth and streamlined rim of the phone—a tactile feature that enhances the phone-holding experience—will reveal the side key and volume buttons on the side, and the dual SIM slot at the bottom, where one can also find the USB-C charging port as well as the speaker output.
Now, the trend of compact packaging propelled by the elimination of the charging brick means that one can go through the package content in a fairly quick dive. Like others in its league, Samsung provides only a USB cable, ejection pin and standard paper documentation.
