At its mid-year Unpacked event, Samsung delivered the much-anticipated successors to its third generation foldables - the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4.
With the improvements to the processors and battery, elevated flexCam and new Bora Purple colourway, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is about to garner more love and attention than it already has. Before we dive deeper into the specs and upgrades, here’s our first impression on this stunner.
Like most of the fans out there, we picked the Galaxy Z Flip 4 over the Z Fold 4 for its pocket-sized clamshell design that makes for a good ally in daily life. For the fourth generation, Samsung refines the “back-to-the-future” design into a squarer silhouette, whilst the 1.9-inch Super AMOLED cover display stays with enhanced usability.
Its panel in hazy matte finish meets the glossy metallic frame for a sharp but soft contrast. It also won’t be hard for a Galaxy Z stan to notice the slimmer hinge of Flip 4, which is now shielded by Armour Aluminium for more enhanced durability and greater protection.
Ultimately, the new Flip 4 is sleeker and more comfortable to hold, both when it’s open and closed.
And we are here to debunk the myth around the crease: it shouldn’t be bothering you much. The inevitable seam on the main display is barely visible compared to the previous models, and the immersive viewing experience is guaranteed.
Next up, the Flex Cam. Crowned as the ultimate tool of self-expression, the Flex Cam now harnesses the flexibility of Galaxy Z Flip 4’s form factor with enhanced app compatibility for all kinds of photography and videography experiences.
On both the cover display and main display, you can capture moments from diverse angles and dimensions. The Flex mode on the rear camera is just gonna change your selfie and vlog game.
Stay tuned as we will give you a full review on our experience with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.
