#SamsungUnpacked: Everything important to know about Z Flip 4, Z Fold 4 and more
We'll keep it short and simple to get you up to speed with the exciting new launches from Samsung
Samsung is back to wow us with its latest #SamsungUnpacked event, where they unveil the latest technology and innovations.
And on the plate, this August 2022 series, is the latest Galaxy Foldable smartphone series (Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4), the new Galaxy Buds2 Pro and the Galaxy Watch5 series.
A global event hosted live in London and New York, we hopped on the virtual world to join the hype and see what Samsung has to offer us in the third quarter of 2022.
Without further ado, let's get to it!
BORA PURPLE
We all thought green was the year's colour but now, our minds are changed as Samsung introduced Bora Purple as its signature colour for this Samsung Unpacked.
Prominently highlighted across multiple devices including the Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Buds2 Pro, this new shade is the star of the season, which is also endorsed by its global ambassadors BTS (where the term Borahae and I Purple You were coined).
Sleek, matte and ergonomically designed, the Bora Purple elevates the design, look and feel of the new launches perfectly.
GALAXY Z FLIP4
Onto the first item on the block - Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4, the latest 4th generation of the Flip series (now in Bora Purple, Graphite, Pink Gold and Blue).
This year, Samsung is elevating the user experience with Z Flip4, most notably with Flex Cam, where the Z Flip4 is promoted as the ultimate tool of self-expression.
With its sleek foldable body, users can now shoot hands-free video or capture full group selfies at various angles by partially folding the Galaxy Z Flip4 to activate FlexCam. Of course, thanks to Samsung's efforts, this mode is integrated into your favourite social media apps including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
One of the major improvements we saw with the Z Flip4 is the Cover Screen, where you can shoot better videos and photos with the main camera, all while previewing what you are shooting in actual ratio (as opposed to the cropped preview in previous Flip models).
The Cover Screen has also become more customisable to fit each individual and allows more flexibility in performing various tasks, from quick replies on your messaging apps to instantly activating Samsung Pay. All can be done without even flipping your Z Flip4 open (thanks to its new SmartThings Scene widget).
Most importantly, the main camera has now been upgraded with Nightography, allowing higher quality photos and videos to be captured even in dark settings.
GALAXY Z FLIP4 BESPOKE EDITION
If the colour purple is not to your liking (or the other three colours), then why not make your very own unique Galaxy Z Flip4?
Hot off the launch, let's take a look at the Galaxy Z Flip4 Bespoke Edition, starring 5 different colours for the front and back body (Yellow, Khaki, White, Navy and Red) and 3 different frame colours (Silver, Gold and Black), where you can mix and match to create the ultimate Z Flip4.
This truly makes the perfect service to showcase your own true style. Personally, we are eyeing the White and Yellow body combo with a silver frame. Simply vogue!
GALAXY Z FOLD4
Now, let's talk about the ultra-luxury powerhouse - Galaxy Z Fold4, which sees a major leap in innovations that makes it almost as powerful as a full-fledged laptop or tablet.
The newly implemented Task Bar is definitely on top of our list of most exciting features on a smartphone. A feature seen in its Galaxy Tab S8, this new implementation on the Z Fold4 allows customised commands on the Task Bar, where you can program preset apps together into a split screen format to allow a greater and more intuitive user experience.
With its strategic partnership with Google and Microsoft, the Z Fold4 also allows the "drag-and-drop" function where you can copy and paste between different applications with ease.
And what's a powerhouse without an outstanding camera? With the new Z Fold4, the main camera has been upgraded with a 50MP wide lens and 30x Space Zoom lens, along with other features like the larger Zoom map activated on Capture View Mode, Dual Preview, and Rear Cam Selfie.
And to put the cherry on top of the cake, the Z Fold4 now has Flex Mode Touchpad, which allows users to control the smartphone without disrupting their viewing pleasure. Simply put, the two panels can be split in a way, where one side allows you to watch your preferred videos or entertainment, while the other side lets you control various features like fast-forward, rewind and adjust volume without disrupting your flow.
The Z Fold4 is available in three colours (Graygreen, Phantom Black and Beige).
GALAXY BUDS2 PRO
To further elevate your Samsung user experience, meet the new Galaxy Buds2 Pro, the latest earbuds by the tech mogul that now highlights a more ergonomic design and new technology.
First things first, comfort is always a top priority and the Galaxy Buds2 Pro does not disappoint with a seamless and comfortable design that allows a secure fit at all times.
The new Active Noise Cancellation upgrade is the highlight of the new earbuds, where it automatically switches its noise filtering based on voice detection. That means when you are blasting your favourite tunes, the earbuds will actively detect when you speak and lower the music and turn down noise cancellation automatically to let you communicate with others without the need to pause your music.
And the Buds2 Pro now also allows you to connect between devices (e.g your phone and your Samsung TV simultaneously). yes, you heard it right. You can watch late-night TV with your earbuds now without waking up the rest of the household.
So, while you enjoy an immersive movie experience with the earbuds, it will seamlessly be able to connect to your phone when a call comes in without having to manually pause your movie.
GALAXY WATCH5 AND WATCH5 PRO
What's a Samsung Unpacked event without a new smartwatch to complement the rest of your device?
The new Samsung Watch5 series has now been elevated for optimum health and wellness monitoring. With Samsung's unique BioActive Sensor, a new era of digital health monitoring has arrived where you can monitor, record and deliver extensive readings that include heart rate, blood oxygen level, and even stress level.
Along with that comes the Body Composition measuring tool within the Watch5 series that allows you to track your fitness progress and overall health condition at the ease of your own home (actually wherever and whenever you want, really).
But what's more exciting for the new watch series is the advanced Watch5 Pro, which is made with much more powerful innovation.
