UOB banks on a new regional card branding campaign
The financial institution, armed with the largest consumer banking footprint and as top cards issuer in ASEAN, celebrates an evening of cuisine and cinema.
UOB Malaysia recently curated a memorable evening for its top credit card customers and key business partners, in conjunction with the launch of its new regional card branding campaign.
A sensational short film, set in Barcelona and directed by the award-winning David Tsui, was unveiled, shining a light on the global reach of the Bank’s card propositions and regional partnerships with key global brands in dining, travel and retail.
The event was headlined by a gala dinner, held simultaneously across three markets: Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, in partnership with The MICHELIN Guide Kuala Lumpur and Robert Parker Wine Advocate.
St. Regis Kuala Lumpur was the venue of choice for the Malaysian edition of exquisite culinary experience crafted by a team of three MICHELIN-starred restaurant chefs from Thailand and Malaysia: Mezzaluna’s Ryuki Kawasaki, Chef’s Table’s Vincent Thierry and Restaurant Au Jardin’s Su Kim Hock.
The six-course menu opened with Tairagi, Hotaru Ika, Green Pea, Wasabi Leaf; followed by Grilled Vaucluse Green Asparagus, Salad Meli-Melo, Braised Beef Vinaigrette; Milk-Fed Lamb Tartare, Burnt Oil, Lemon Pith & Capers, Anchovies Emulsion, Puffed Anchovy Crisps; Kinmedai, Foie Gras, Bamboo Shoot, Morel Dashi; Confit Wagyu Beef Shoulder, Celeriac Puree, Herbal Salad, Virgin Green Oil; and Freshly Shaven Guava, Torch Ginger And Strawberries Sorbet, Plum And Beets Powder, Sugarless Meringue.
The superb pairing of fine wines rated above RP95 by Robert Parker Wine Advocate included: Bollinger, R.D. Extra Brut 2007, M. Chapoutier, Ermitage de L’Orée 2013; Espectacle del Montsant 2014; Vega Sicilia, Único 2012; Château Montrose, Saint-Estèphe 2010; Tenuta San Guido, Sassicaia 2006; Fuligni, Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2015 (in Magnum); Telmo Rodríguez, ‘Molino Real’ Moscatel 2017; and Baron Gaston Legrand, Bas-Armagnac 1965.
