What is the theme of Guerlain 2018 Christmas makeup collection and which are the products highlights?
Before we start, I have to say that Guerlain is the first brand to introduce the idea of a "Christmas Collection" back in the 60s and every year, there's always one or two products that are really worth to keep.
This year, the collection is all about being glamorous and sophisticated at the same time. We have this Gloss d'Enfer Maxi Shine, a range of lip glosses that comes with a metallic finish and very concentrated pigments.
Also, the 'Electric Look Palette' which features two highlighters and eight eyeshadows that allows you to start the day with natural nude make up and walk into the night with shimmering, glowy looks.
What is the trending festive beauty look and how can we recreate it with Guerlain's Christmas collection?
A lot of distinctive looks are spotted on the runway this season. We adore the no-makeup look, where we can see the skin and the imperfection, yet the smokey eye is also making a comeback with an edgier, stronger line and a sprinkle of shimmer underneath the eyes. The lips are either going nature or tinted with gothic shades such as burgundy and dark red.
And what makes Guerlain's 2018 makeup collection so perfect to recreate the trending looks is the assorted pigments from neutral to bold, from matte to metallic. You can begin with the natural shades and finish with a fabulous illuminating touch.
