Jorja Smith appointed as new Dior makeup ambassador
Dior is having a major moment in celebrating powerful women and the latest on the line is Grammy-nominated artist Jorja Smith.
Over three years into Maria Grazia Chiuri’s tenure as creative director, through which she has embraced feminist themes in each show, and two weeks after the launch of a new makeup campaign starring supermodel extraordinaire Bella Hadid, the house is celebrating the powerful spirit of its latest makeup ambassador, Jorja Smith who is about to take music—and the world—by storm.
Smith’s appointment comes on the tail end of her recent Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. Her songs “Blue Lights” and “On My Mind” have garnered attention from fans and music aficionados alike, as well as “I Am,” the track she co-wrote and sang in collaboration with Kendrick Lamar for the Academy Award-winning Marvel film Black Panther.
The certified rising star of soul music was recently featured in L’Officiel Paris' “We Love France” issue. Her resume is growing—so this news comes as no surprise.
Gaining instant critical praise for her Grammy and Mercury Prize-nominated songs, as well as the two Brit Awards the soulful musician already has under her belt, Smith is establishing herself in the music world and her new role with Dior marks a continuation her multi-faceted ambitions.
