L'Officiel x L'Oréal presents #ColorMeFrench by L'Oréal Professionnel
What is it about the proud inhabitants of the French capital that makes them so special? Thanks to their unique culture and well- known clichés, you might be forgiven for identifying them as ardent lovers, uber-stylish individuals and also, sophisticated gourmands.
While we may not be all that, most of us certainly aspire to look Parisian and now we can adopt the ever-coveted French girl looks with L’Oreal Professionnel’s latest Color Me French – Parisian Nudes collection – a new multi-tonal technique for unique Parisian style nude hair colour.
So, we gathered 7 L’Oreal Professionnel Artistic Ambassadors to each demonstrate how you can look Parisian with L’Oreal Professionnel smart hair colour using the breakthrough technology of Smart Bond and showcasing their personal take on Color Me French, as seen on seven Malaysian personalities including Nur Ruhainies Farehah, Johanis Sani, Cai Pei Xuan, Tunku Rania, Whulandary Herman, Cik Manggis and Melissa Sin.
(Read on to find out how L’Oreal Professionnel Artistic Ambassadors created these Parisian chic looks)
And here's our exclusive video we did with the 7 girls:
Nur Ruhainies Farehah by Miko Au
INSPIRATION
Behind the sweet, loving face, my subject Anis is an independent girl with lots of character. So I decided to go for a more intense look with light pastel shades to give a sophisticated yet effortless look.
TECHNIQUE
I used the French balayage technique. To be honest, the technique I choose to use will depend on face shape, colour and the client’s desired results.
PARISIAN NUDES FAVOURITE
I personally love the cool colour series by Majirel.
SKIN TONE
Different shades give you different characters. My advice is to combine two different shades and choose colours that are the opposite of your skin colour. For example, warm against cool, dark against light.
TRENDS
Definitely Parisian or French balayage – it’s a style that is both playful and that requires a certain amount of effort which I’m sure will sit well with everyone.

Johanis Sani by Andy Chan
INSPIRATION
Bangs are the main inspiration behind my look as they not only highlight your personality, but enhance your look and make you look younger.
TECHNIQUE
In terms of hair colouring technology, I chose to emphasise the tone with internal balayage highlighting method.
PARISIAN NUDES FAVOURITE
I particularly favour the brown, chocolate and mocha shades.
SKIN TONE
Asian skin tone is naturally yellowish and therefore, not suited to gold- coloured hair. I think mocha and chocolate colours are better suited to it instead.
TRENDS
Mocha would be a mainstream colour this season.

Cai Pei Xuan by Max Chang
INSPIRATION
The look I’m going for is inspired by summer beach girls.
TECHNIQUE
I separate the hair into upper and lower sections before highlighting it from dark to light.
PARISIAN NUDES FAVOURITE
My favourites are shades with brown and orange.
SKIN TONE
Women with dark brown complexions are suited to a warmer hair colour as it gives off an overall contrasting tone and a three-dimensional effect.
TRENDS
Personally, warm colours would be a hit as they never look out of place at any occasion.

Tunku Rania by Simon Koh
INSPIRATION
I wanted to create a style that is not only elegant- looking but super easy and quick to pull off, and burgundy brown contributes to the simplicity of the whole look.
TECHNIQUE
The highlights are achieved using a woven technique whereby foil is used to separate strands of hair to be lightened from hair that remains in its natural colour.
PARISIAN NUDES FAVOURITE
The Mocha colours.
SKIN TONE
All colours from the Parisian Nudes range can be paired with any skin colour.
TRENDS
Darker roots and lighter ends will be trending as the combination is stylish and very wearable.

Whulandary Herman by Shawn Loong
INSPIRATION
It is taken from Paris, specifically the wavy texture of summer hair and forms of the buildings there.
TECHNIQUE
I’m all about heavy textures and very soft details at the ends.
PARISIAN NUDES FAVOURITE
Anything brown regardless of the shade and texture.
SKIN TONE
Brown has always been a favourite for Asians as it goes well with all skin colours.
TRENDS
I think brown hair with an ash brown base will be a hit this season.

Nurshazwani Shamsuddin (Cik Manggis) by Albert Nico
INSPIRATION
The French’s perfectly balanced execution of “chic and classic” is what inspired my take on the style and colour.
TECHNIQUE
I went with an ombre effect at the bottom to give the whole look a 3-D feel.
PARISIAN NUDES FAVOURITE
I’m really loving ash brown at the moment as it is a brilliant mix of both cool and warm. Ash is essentially a dull colour so I like to throw in a bit of brown for added edge.
SKINTONE
Parisian Nudes is for everyone, making it an ideal shade to cater to multiracial countries such as Malaysia. All you have to do is play around with the dark and light tones of the shade.
TRENDS
Ash brown will always be my go-to colour for summer which is something I have observed on runways recently. Basically, summer hair is about subtle, toned- down colours.

Melissa Sin by Kevin Woo
INSPIRATION
Cool shades and subtlety come to mind when I think of Parisian, which serves as the inspiration behind the look.
TECHNIQUE
The technique I used is a mixture of smudging and balayage to achieve the result of natural, cool brown-toned roots and bright, multi-toned ends.
PARISIAN NUDES FAVOURITE
I have always favoured cool shades so I would say the Majirel French Brown is a personal favourite.
SKIN TONE
Parisian Nudes is suitable for all skin tones. For instance, those with darker complexions can pull off warmer shades while those with medium to lighter complexions should opt for cooler shades.
TRENDS
I can see French brown becoming everyone’s go-to hair colour.
