Jisoo got us addicted to the new Dior Addict lipstick
Style, femininity and personality converge afresh in the reinvention of the delectable lip shine icon.
Among Spring 2022’s exciting releases is the redesign of the Dior Addict lipstick (as seen on Dior ambassador Jisoo) by Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup.
Conceived as a fashion accessory, the first “upside down” lipstick introduced almost 20 years ago was a rule breaker and the expression of liberated femininity—resolute and radiant.
Over the years, it has come to epitomise and encapsulate a free-spirited female tribe as much as a coveted lip shine imbued with a trendy palette of colours.
In line with the current movement towards all things natural and sustainable, Philips and Dior laboratories have followed suit, firstly, to develop a new breakthrough formulation for the Dior Addict lipstick with exceptional shine incorporating 90% natural-origin ingredients and infused with floral lip care, the signature of the House’s makeup formulas.
Not just a pretty lipstick, its performance duly impresses—defined by 24-hour continuous hydration, 6-hour wear, a lacquer-effect shine and improved skin adherence for precise application.
The 40 high-shine shades, of both classics and originals, encompass red to pink and nude to brick, as well as a series of rosewoods, including the gorgeous brick red Dior 8, in a nod to the lucky number of the House and to Dior Couture. Each lip shade is infused with jasmine wax, Christian Dior’s favourite flower, along with sunflower and rice waxes, and plum oil to produce a mirror shine.
With a single sweep, a thin film with perfect distribution of pigment melts on the lips, subtly scented with delicious red berry notes, combined with Grasse jasmine. A bonus in the form of the Dior Addict Lip Glow, with colour reviver technology, is now available in Dior 8 and can be worn with any of the Dior Addict shades.
And for those who love the Dior Addict lipstick as a fashion statement would be ecstatic to know that it has been unveiled in four different cases inspired by the House of Dior codes, each adorned with the Dior logo and the signature silver pearl.
The timeless black case with sleek contemporary lines is now joined by three other captivating designs: Metallic Silver, Indigo Denim and Pink Cannage to provide a mix-and-match personalisation of a case and a refill shade of one’s choice.
To celebrate this new era, the #ShineAttitude campaign, starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Jisoo and Sharon Alexie, depicts the passion of the Dior Addict women and their wonderful plural femininity.
