We tried AsterSpring’s Hydra Shine Therapy and here’s what happened

It's kind of a fast-forward button for your skin's glow-up.

Glowing skin is a long game, from skin’s moisture retention to pH balance and cell regeneration, the overall well-being of our skin is taken into account.

And just because there’s no single miracle product that gives everything, doesn’t mean my summer glow has to wait. I booked myself a session the moment I learned that AsterSpring is introducing the new Hydra Shine Therapy, which promises to supercharge your skin and restore dewy, plump skin from deep within.

The 60-minute therapy started with deep cleansing and extraction. While it might be the least delightful step of a facial treatment, it’s exciting and relieving to get rid of the congestions because no chemical exfoliant or cleansing device we try at home can replace the hands of a professional.

After clearing the congested pores, making sure my skin was prepped and all fresh to drink up the goodness coming its way, my therapist Elane slathered the Dermalogica Pro Powerbright Ionactive Serum on my face and massaged it into my skin using the LDM machine.

The ultrasound wave machine enhanced the penetration of the formula to allow its formula to go beyond the surface, resulting in plumper skin that glows from within. With a history of allergy to vitamin C products, I was reassured by Elane that this brightening agents loaded serum was powered by advanced Niacinamide that’s friendly to most skin types and concerns.

Next came the Intense Hydra Soothing Bio Cellulose mask soaked in Green Caviar, Green Caviar, Ginkgo Biloba Stem Cell Extract, Wasabi Leaf Extract and hyaluronic acid. Elane told me that this multitasking mask – it boosts collagen, hydrates and soothes – is made out of coconut fibre which hugs the face perfectly with a luxurious texture. Wrapping up this therapy was a calming pressure point massage followed by finishing touches of ampoule serum, moisturizer and SPF to keep skin shielded for the rest of the day.

Before leaving the AsterSpring centre, I caught a glimpse of my skin in the mirror and my pores are satisfyingly cleared. It’s also with little wonder that I spent the next few days healing from the inevitable blemishes and redness that followed the very thorough extraction.

On the third day after the therapy, the post-facial redness was almost all gone and I started to notice a radiance on my happily plump skin. It’s even bouncy to the touch.

VERDICT: I’d say that the Hydra Shine Therapy is not only designed for those looking for an instant glow, but also for stressed skin in need of intense soothing and a blast of deep hydration.
