Digital Cover #8: Blue Pongtiwat on Swarovski, love and romance

To celebrate his appointment as the first male Friend of Swarovski from Thailand, we cast Blue Pongtiwat on our eighth digital cover.

When we first met Blue Pongtiwat, it was at New York Fashion Week when the rising Thai actor and heartthrob made his debut front-row appearance on the international scene and to summarise the encounter with him - we were smitten.

Soft-spoken and calm with angelic looks, Blue was a true gentleman who captured the hearts of many and a week after our first encounter, we met him again. This time, it was a more intimate experience in Shanghai, where he attended the Swarovski "Masters of Light" exhibition in Shanghai, where we see a different side of the dashing actor - charming, witty with an endearing youthful cheekiness. We knew from there that he was set for amazing feats as one of the rising faces of the Asian entertainment scene.

From his early works that propelled him to fame including TV3's drama series Krong Kam and the variety show Food Battle Truck: Season 2, Blue proves to be a force to be reckoned with, charming his audience with his acting talent and his authentic and loving personality.

Last year, the world witnessed more of his talents when he starred as Aran, the leading role of the drama series The Family and his special appearance as the host of K Global Heart Dream Awards, cementing his place as the young blood further propelling the Thai cultural wave to the world stage.

And now, kickstarting 2024 with aplomb, Blue is appointed as the first male Friend of Swarovski from Thailand, marking another milestone for this talented 24-year-old.

To celebrate his new appointment, we partnered with Swarovski for an exclusive shoot, where he was captured with the latest Swarovski collections in New York, where he was in attendance for the Swarovski New York flagship store opening on Fifth Avenue.

Along with the shoot, we also sat down with the actor to talk about his new role with Swarovski and all things romance and love, just in time to welcome the coming Valentine's Day.

Since February is about celebrating love, what is love to you?

Personally, "Family" is my definition of love. No matter what happens, they are and will always be with me through my peaks and valleys, giving me their full support, cheering me up, and congratulating me on every success. Unconditional love is my perception of the word 'family'.

What is the perfect gift to give your loved ones?

The gift/present that I would like to give to my special/loved one is ‘time’, as I am constantly working and my schedule is rather unpredictable. Therefore, when I have time, I would like to set aside more time to spend with my family. Time is the best gift in my perspective.

What is your take on a romantic date and what is the most romantic thing you have done for someone?

I do have an idea. My romantic idea is to try to observe every detail (no matter how small or obvious) of my loved ones so that I can surprise them with what they like or are fond of on their special day. I think this sounds romantic to me.

Because love is not only about saying you love someone but to express with your action that comes from the bottom of your heart.

You've worked with Swarovski on various projects, which is the most memorable one for you so far?

All of them are very memorable experiences. However, my favourite one was when I had a chance to attend the Swarovski exhibition in Shanghai, China. There were a variety of customised costumes embellished with Swarovski crystals and they were stunningly beautiful. I would say it’s a very ‘Wow’ moment for me. That’s the great experience for me.

What is your goal for 2024 and can you share your plans for the year?

My goal for 2024 is to accomplish more in my acting career and to have my series be successful. The other plan is to focus on fashion perspectives because I truly love and am passionate about fashion.
