Where to dine during the NYFW?
Starting tomorrow, the Big Apple will host the fashion pack for 10 days of New York Fashion Week and while you're there, why not indulge yourself in some fabulous wine and dine?
In conjunction of NYFW, here are six of Manhattan's chicest hotspots, restaurants and bars for you to check out.
Trifle
Address: 1 Little W 12th Street, New York, NY 10014
The Setting: In the heart of the Meatpacking District, this property has a well-deserved reputation. Design is the key element of this establishment that makes its patrons feel like home, all thanks to the architect Icrave, who was able to contrast a classic architecture and a pop art style.
The Atmosphere: Music, dance, innovation and performance are at the heart of this experience. Thanks to the quality of service that pays attention to every detail, customers quickly feel like they are part of a big family.
The Plate: An epicurean cuisine, sunny and refreshing with dishes reminiscent of the Côte d'Azur, all made with organic products.
The Mercer
Address: 99 Prince St, New York, NY 10012
The Setting: Located at the Mercer Hotel in the heart of SoHo, in a historic building dating back to 1800s, this restaurant brings a chic and sophisticated vibe. Designed by the famous Christian Liaigre, this is the place to go where New Yorkers, celebrities and tourists gather and mingle.
The Atmosphere: With bricks and old school banquettes, the restaurant plunges us into an atmosphere that is both timeless and sexy. A perfect refuge where we are sure to be well-received.
The Plate: The chef Jean Georges offers menus prepared in a simple and elegant way. We especially like the tuna spring rolls, shrimp steam salad and their famous baked pizzas.
Cipriani Downtown
Address: 376 W Broadway, New York, NY 10012
The Setting: Located on West Broadway, one of the chic and cool avenues of Soho, this timeless and historic institution that opened in 1931 continues to attract its loyal international clientele.
The Atmosphere: A Mecca of Italian traditions, but also an upscale and authentic atmosphere that welcomes all the New York elites.
The Plate: Transalpine is a must. Cipriani is also a favourite for its desserts, such as cream pancakes and Grand Marnier puddles.
The Turtle
Address: 177 Chrystie Street New York City
The Setting: The place is located in the heart of the famous trendy Lower East Side, with a cosy setting, brick walls and massive marble tables.
The Plate: Here is where you go to sip a cocktail, dig into some roast chicken, and share with healthy sides in a homely atmosphere.
The Cuckoo
Address: 138 Lafayette St, New York, NY 10013
The Setting: Also located in the vibrant district of SoHo, it displays a racy deco signed by the duo Roman and Williams.
The Atmosphere: With its particular attention to detail, the restaurant quickly gives us the feeling of being inside a small (very chic) cocoon.
The Plate: The famous chef Daniel Rose of "La Bourse et la Vie", in Paris recreates his greatest signature dishes here, featuring US key flavours with a tribute to the French tradition.
The Mark Cha
Address: 25 E 77th St, New York, NY 10075
Setting: Located in the heart of the Upper East Side, "The Mark Cha" pop-up bar opens its doors for the duration of the New York Fashion Week, from 8th to 18th February. Ideal for a break between shows, it is the go-to to test the matcha menus concocted by the chef Jean-Georges.
The Plate: Essentially a tea or the latte matcha and turmeric, but also vegan muffins with matcha or a Martini cocktail.
Soho House
Address: 29-35 Ninth Avenue, New York, NY 10014
The setting: The design of each piece reflects the dynamic and modern spirit of the Big Apple. The club is designed to foster relationships, where guests can come for work or pleasure, collaborate or relax with everything they need at their fingertips.
Atmosphere: Set in one of Manhattan's most vibrant neighbourhoods, Soho House immerses you in a glowing space by the fire in the evening.
The plate: With several restaurants and bars on site, the club serves an ultra varied range of dishes and drinks. We love its traditional American recipes, with a contemporary twist.
