Show Details: 3 things we love from the Burberry Fall 2019 show
With a total of no less than 106 looks, the second collection by Riccardo Tisci for Burberry is made to serve a varied audience of different styles.
The extravagant show, titled "Tempest", at Tate Modern is marked by a streetwear footprint with a touch of traditional DNA of the English house – all accompanied with a flurry of logomania and impeccable overlays, something that we have come to know as Riccardo's signature.
Here, we round up five best moments of the Burberry Autumn/Winter 2019 show for your delight. Check it out below:
#1: Gigi Hadid
Last season, Riccardo has Kendall Jenner walk for his first Burberry show, and now it was Gigi Hadid's turn. Wearing a hybrid polo shirt look with a corset and puffed sleeves, Gigi strutted the runway alongside veterans Irina Shayk, Natalia Vodianova and Stella Tennant.
#2: The Clear Divide
The brand separated its show into two spaces: an entire wood-clad room with a sophisticated touch; and another where he has steel scaffolding and a dozen kids clad in uniform tracksuits hung out as the show went on.
It is the perfect scenario to show the contrasts and similarities between Riccardo and Burberry – reminiscing the '90s era where Riccardo, an Italian student studying at Central Saint Martins, immerses himself in the heyday of the edgy British music scene and street style.
#3: The Soundtrack
For this show, the singer MIA was behind the soundtrack. She, like Tisci, studied at Central Saint Martins in the 1990s, was put in charge of the music, which filled the venue with mixtures of artists from the past decade to explore the idea of contrast and perspective within the two carefully selected environments.
