Gucci leaves Milan for Paris
"All roads lead to France", Gucci proves that it is true as the Italian label announces its move from Milan to Paris Fashion Week for the coming September 2018 shows.
The Italian label, led by creative director Alessandro Michele, has been paying homage to the country since its Pre-Fall 2018 collection, when it was inspired by the protests of French students in the late 1960s - a movement known as May 1968 - to create its campaign.
Then Alessandro decided to present the Cruise 2019 show (happening on 30th May), in Arles in the south of France.
And now Gucci announces that it will show its Spring/Summer 2019 collection in Paris Fashion Week on 24th September 2018, which is set in between the official dates of Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks.
The news follows a series of changes in fashion weeks, including the date of the new NYFW. However, this is not a permanent move. Gucci will be returning to Milan Fashion Week for the Fall/Winter 2019 show, which takes place in February 2019.
