Louis Vuitton Cruise 2023 show dominates San Diego
In the heart of the West Coast, at the Salk Institute in San Diego, the creations of Nicolas Ghesquière are staged.
LOUIS VUITTON THE 2023 CRUISE SHOW IN SAN DIEGO
In direct contact with the Pacific Ocean, among the brutalist architectures of the Salk Institute for Biological Studies designed by Louis I. Kahn in San Diego, the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2023 collection parades. In a scenario that could only be completed with twilight, Nicolas Ghesquière emphasizes a new type of woman. A heroic woman, who looks like a warrior of the future who seems to have stepped out of one of the films set in a parallel reality.
The show opens with the singer Lous and the Yakuza, a well-known and faithful face to the Maison, wearing a stately dress expertly composed of voluminous flounces and sculptural draperies. Looks with important silhouettes follow, square bibs with metallic applications, foulard dresses that create all-round intersections, crop tops and cross bras worn with dishevelled skirts.
Stiffened austere hoods, shield tops, and fringed jackets set with concave and convex structures. Particular attention goes to the materials: PVC, vinyl, glittering leathers, mirrored plates and reflective lurex to the point of appearing metallic.
