After the pandemic scenario, we were almost getting used to following the shows of the biggest fashion weeks virtually, it turns out that now the fashion market is evolving at the speed of light, and what once seemed to be the future, amazingly, is happening!
Have you ever imagined a digital native fashion week? Then meet Decentraland, the platform that hosts the first virtual fashion week.
From March 24th to 27th, Metaverse Fashion Week features fashion shows, immersive experiences, shopping, lectures to further enrich our fashion repertoire and even after parties. With over 60 brands, artists and designers participating, #MVFW22 is an event that represents a lot for the global fashion industry.
We can look forward to this digitally trendy week, for a combination of luxury fashion with digital-native brands, their highly disruptive wearable collections, digital spaces and innovative activations.
MVFW is also organized by UNXD, the luxury marketplace responsible for developing NFTs, including an exclusive Dolce & Gabbana token collection, presented in September and sold for US$5.7 million.
So far, only D&G has confirmed as a participant, but there are strong rumors that Burberry, Hugo Boss, Balenciaga, Paco Rabanne and Tommy Hilfiger will be part of the line-up. In addition to the presence of the brands Forever 21, Philipp Plein and Estée Lauder with exclusive items for your avatar.
For David Cash, curator of talks on the event's guest panel, a perfect way to describe the event would be: to present fashion in every way possible, from runway shows to retail experiences, fashion as art, film, photography and even presented in ways that extend beyond the confines of reality – like, in the metaverse.
