4 things you need to know about the 2018 Victoria's Secret Show
One of the most buzzed-about shows of the year, the 2018 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is definitely one for the books for many reasons.
From Adriana Lima's retirement to the VS runway to Behati's return and the debut of Winnie Harlow and more, there is plenty to look forward to at the 2018 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show (which will be broadcast worldwide on 2nd December 2018).
And here are four things you need to know about the show that had the world buzzing on the weekend!
Adriana says "Goodbye"
A regular angel on the VS runway for over two decades, supermodel Adriana Lima announces that she is retiring from the runway during the taping of the show, making 2018 her last runway walk for Victoria's Secret.
Her 18th show to date, her final walk down the VS runway was a moment to remember as she blew kisses to the guests of the night before bowing out.
On her Instagram, she says, "Dear Victoria, thank you for showing me the world, sharing your secrets, and most importantly not just giving me wings but teaching me to fly. ❤️ to the best fans in the 🌎! Love, Adriana 💖".
No, we are not crying. You are!
Winnie Harlow makes her big VS debut
Another headliner of the 2018 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is, of course, Winnie Harlow's debut on the runway, making it the first time ever we see a model with vitiligo walking down the VS runway, representing women with skin conditions in the media.
Alongside with her are fellow emerging models Duckie Thot, Kelsey Merritt and Willow Hand, who all made their debut in this year's show. Did you know that Kelsey is also the first ever Filipino-American model to walk the VS runway?
The Comeback Models feat. Behati, Toni & Barbara
Making her big comeback after two years of absence is one of our favourite VS Angels, Behati Prinsloo, who is married to Adam Levine of Maroon 5.
Looking fine as ever, Behati rocked the runway with fellow models like Barbara Palvin, Toni Garrn and Candice Swanepoel, who all made a comeback to the coveted runway.
Mary Katrantzou x Victoria's Secret Collab
And wrapping up our highlights is the spectacular Mary Katrantzou collaboration with Victoria's Secret, which is the first ever for the British Designer to design lingerie.
Long known for her amazing works, Mary has done wonders with collaborations for sneakers, t-shirts and even packaging for beauty products, but bras are a first for her.
She told WWD, "Sometimes you have certain things you want to happen and you manifest to happen and this something that came out of nowhere... That conversation [with Victoria’s Secret] was interesting, just because of the values we both share about empowering women."
Stay tuned to 2nd December 2018, where the 2018 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will make its worldwide debut on select TV networks and digital platforms.
