Maria Grazia Chiuri has continuously proved her prowess when it comes to conjuring sartorial fantasy where the time-space dimension is erased. For Dior Autumn/Winter 2021 ready-to-wear collection, the designer enlists the help of the fairy tale heroes – from Alice to Little Red Riding Hood and Belle – to explore the darker side of their world.

Bridging our reality with the sweet yet dangerous world of fairy tales, Dior Autumn/Winter arsenal sees the heavy use of black and blue on the house’s classic silhouettes, while shades of red lend tension to the storytelling. The tin soldier’s uniform is reimagined into a parade of blue cashmere coats, while structured hooded jackets lined up for Little Red Riding Hood.

The love affair between Dior and rose continues as the archival rose motif created by Monsieur Dior’s collaborator and friend Andrée Brossin de Méré weaves through the collection to evoke Beauty and the Beast.
