Amelia Henderson takes us inside the new Alexander McQueen flagship boutique

To welcome the opening of this exciting new retail space at The Exchange TRX, we have actress and style icon Amelia Henderson take the reigns for an intimate store tour.

With an interior birthed in a collaboration between creative director Sarah Burton and the architect Smiljan Radic, the new Alexander McQueen flagship boutique stands as a testament to the brand as one of the leading luxury fashion houses in the world.

Upon entry, you will be greeted with a world of luxury fashion in the distinctive Alexander McQueen style, where warm, rich oak and walnut wood furnishing decorates the entire space. Layered with refined sophistication with a touch of cool edge, the boutique immerses you in the latest offerings from the brand, ranging from women's and men's ready-to-wear collections to shoes, bags and accessories.

Each design choice for the interior draws on Alexander McQueen's longtime fascination with nature, which remains one of the house's core values.

The main spotlight remains on the various collections created by Sarah Burton, which can be seen from all directions, no matter where you stand within the store. The clever play on light that reflects on the light and dark wood surfaces further enhances the experience as they blend into a singular design motion that allows an intimate fashion journey for all who enter.

The items that truly captivate visitors' eyes are the bags and accessories, from the signature Jewelled Satchels in various forms and shades; and the sleek Peak bags to the iconic Armadillo shoes in its heeled and boot renditions.

For this exclusive shoot, the hero looks are all spotted on Amelia including the all-red cropped jacket and tailored bow shorts paired with the silver-clad Mini Jewelled Satchel that brings a delicate, yet powerful contrast befitting the fiery and fashion-forward Alexander McQueen woman.

For a more timeless and bold front, there is the rework on the classic little black dress, where we pair the black mini tweed dress with a stunning pair of Armadillo bow boots and a bright red The Peak bag. Bringing elegance with a playful touch, the look is perfect for a night out about town for any dinner parties and soirees.

Among the various looks worn by Amelia, the shoes and accessories highlight two key collections - the Jewelled Satchel and the Armadillo. The Mini Jewelled Satchel is a signature silhouette among the Alexander McQueen array of unique bags where it features the emblematic Knuckle hardware and a strap inspired by the McQueen biker aesthetic, where this season features new colours including camel and silver tones.

Over on the shoes department, the Armadillo remains the most coveted classic. Inspired by the protective shell of an armadillo that features the iconic curved heel, this design first debuted in 2010's Plato's Atlantis collection and has since been reworked into various shapes, from boots to mule sandals to sleek closed-toe pumps.

This season, the go-to favourites include the mule sandals in black, silver and gold tones and the slingback pumps, which are available in ivory, black and red renditions. Both are staple and versatile designs that can elevate any look within your wardrobe.
