Behind the scenes of Anya Taylor-Joy’s magnificent Golden Globes dress by Dior
This past Sunday, Anya Taylor-Joy made a showstopping impression at the 78th annual Golden Globes. The actress, who won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Miniseries for her performance in The Queen's Gambit, accepted her award at the livestreamed event in an emerald green gown by none other than Christian Dior.
Taking inspiration from a low-cut silhouette from the house's Fall 2018 couture collection, the made-to-measure gown required more than 300 hours of work by six artisans from the atelier. Rendered in a rich green lurex and upgraded with a cape for a dramatic touch, the dress also features a nipped-in waist reminiscent of Dior's famous New Look.
Below, see how the memorable gown came to life, from the initial sketch to the final touch-ups.
