Clare Waight Keller joins Givenchy
Officially announced on its Instagram account, Givenchy (@givenchyofficial) has appointed Clare Waight Keller as its new artistic director, replacing Riccardo Tisci.
Instead of the regular announcement, Givenchy took to social media to make the breaking news and even started it with a teaser photo of its founder Hubert de Givenchy, followed by a quote "true elegance comes with a natural gesture, an attitude in simplicity".
Formerly helming Chloé (now headed by Natacha Ramsay-Levi), the appointment of Clare to Givenchy seemed apt, given the quote by the LVMH couture house.
Known for her minimalistic approach to fashion, we expect a great departure of the future Givenchy collections from Riccardo's aesthetics of pop culture.
On her appointment, Clare says, "“Hubert de Givenchy's confident style has always been an inspiration and I am very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this legendary house’s history."
Set to officially joining the company on 2nd May 2017, this will also mark Clare's first venture into haute couture and that has the entire fashion world giddy with excitement (at least for us!).
And judging to her close affinity to elegance and Givenchy's rich heritage known for its grace and style, favoured by the likes of Jackie Kennedy and Audrey Hepburn, we dare say that Clare will not disappoint in the next fashion week!
