Chloé reissues the Edith bag which was first launched in 2006, bringing back the timeless, feminine, and iconic bag of the brand.
Edith bag was Gabriela Hearst’s first luxury bag that she held onto for 15 years and the reviving embraces her compatibility with Chloé and reinforces her vision for the brand.
Debuting at Chloé’s Autumn/Winter 21 show earlier this year, the re-editioned bag features equestrian-style stitching, an utilitarian pocket, and signature linen lining while still retaining many of its classic characteristics – a gently sloping shape in buffalo leather and rounded handles pieced together with ecru stitching, functional buckles and the identifiable leather tag embossed with Chloé logo.
Gabriela Hearst also updated the bag with editions like a medium day bag and a more spacious medium tote made from recycled cashmere. The richly earthy tones of the new Edith fit well for the autumn, along with shades of burgundy and sophisticated black-and-white.
The Edith Collector was first spotted at the Autumn/Winter 2021 show, in which Gabriela Hearst had sourced secondhand and revived with one-of-a-kind variations including leather scallop patchwork, and coiling leather rope and tubular fringe through Chloé craftmanship.
Now, these original bags will be auctioned off for charity and Chloé fans will have the chance to grab one of the fifty additionally produced Edith Collector bags exclusively on Mytheresa.
