Gucci X The North Face’s latest collaboration brings the ‘90s to us
Bringing back the ‘90s and ‘00s trends in their second collaboration.
Logomania
Monogram prints have been making a major comeback this season. Drawing on this, the collection presents a variety of '90s clothing trends such as the bucket hat, surf shorts, puffer bomber jacket, canvas backpack, fanny pack, overalls, and cargo pants-inspired joggers with front pockets.
All of these features the iconic, interlocking Gucci GG monogram. Accented with red and black, the designs also include a stylish black and white print for a more contemporary aesthetic.
Colour Blocking
Cross colours or colour blocking was another major trend back in the '90s. Back in the day, this design mostly featured primary colours combined on jackets, windbreakers, and track pants. This collection updates the trend using more contemporary duo-colour schemes that will blend easily into your daily wardrobe.
The colours have also been amped up to include popping, bright neon shades that were a characteristic of both '80s and '90s fashion.
Grandpa Knits
The '90s grandpa sweater gets a revamp in on-trend earth tones punctuated with contemporary shades of blue and vibrant, eye-catching mustard. These cosy, oversized wool knits are perfect for lounging around or exploring the outdoors on chilly days.
Featuring a vintage zig-zag print as well as a fun, forest-themed, mixed print motif, these are sure to add a dash of '90s nostalgia to your outfit.
Bomber Jackets
The bomber jacket was a '90s wardrobe staple and, for this collection, the Gucci x The North Face collaboration has given it a serious facelift with a quirky, multicolour floral-monogram mix print and a sportier, duo-colour design that plays into the current athleisure trend.
Despite the refresh, these still feel totally '90s. The lightweight, nylon fabric is ideal for outdoor activities and the unique prints and colour combinations provide you with endless options for self-expression.
