Hedi Slimane joins Céline (and set to add menswear to the brand)
He is no stranger to breaking boundaries and rules wherever he goes and now, our favourite rebel Hedi Slimane is set to join Céline as the new creative, artistic and image director.
And that's not all because as Hedi readies himself to join officially on 1st February 2018, he already has big plans for Céline – leading the brand into launching menswear, couture and fragrance!
Yes, you have heard it right. Hedi will usher in a new era for Céline with new extensions.
As the former designer of Dior Homme (2000-2007) and Saint Laurent (2012-2016), Hedi has proven his worth in revamping fashion houses with his aesthetics.
And menswear is also his signature, one that is even loved by Karl Lagerfeld.
On his new appointment (according to WWD), Hedi says that he is "delighted to join Bernard Arnault in this all-embracing and fascinating mission for Céline. I greatly look forward to returning to the exciting world of fashion and the dynamism of the ateliers."
And Hedi's debut for both men's and women's collection is set at the Spring/Summer 2019 Paris Fashion Week.
With his known rocker chic aesthetics in Saint Laurent, the world is now curious to see the merge of creativity between edgy Hedi and minimalistic Céline.
How excited are you for this new appointment?
