Loewe x William Morris, the collection we are dying to see
A celebrated artist and textile designer of the 19th century, William Morris is someone that struck more than a few chords with Jonathan Anderson, which led to the birth of the coming Loewe x William Morris capsule collection.
Gaining special access to the Morris & Co. archive, the Loewe creative director dives head first into a frenzy of spectacular textiles, art and print, where he chose some of the best to be featured in this special Loewe collection.
A quirk here and some whimsy there, the new Loewe collection is one we are dying to get our hands on and here's why.
Reinterpreting William Morris's nature-inspired works and injecting a touch of British punk aesthetic to it, Jonathan proves to us that when it comes to fashion, anything and everything goes.
And the four masterpieces chosen to be used were taken from the era between the year 1874 and 1883 – namely the Strawberry Thief, Forest, Acanthus and Honeysuckle.
From bright orange finishing to denim details and canvas layers, Jonathan has remastered the artworks into contemporary abstracts, something he is known all too well for.

With this incredible "fashion meets art" collaboration, Loewe shot its lookbook Standen House, a historic national trust property in West Sussex, which also happens to be a place that houses one-of-a-kind Arts and Crafts interior decorated with Morris carpets, fabrics and wallpapers.
On the ready-to-wear collection, motifs from the Forest prints were used on jackets and knits, while the Strawberry Thief design was made into an embroidered outerwear masterpiece.

One of the key highlights is, of course, the bags including Loewe's signature icons The Hammock and The Puzzle. For the Hammock, the Acanthus and Honeysuckle prints were used to dress the body of the bag, while The Puzzle gets a bleached denim finish.
And to finish it off, various accessories including the animal-shaped bags and small leather goods also received the William Morris makeover.
Be it big or small, we think this collection will turn heads at every corner and lucky for us, Malaysia will be stocking its bags and accessories collection from this month (November) onwards.
So, get ready and mark your wish list. It's time to stock up your Fall/Winter 2017 wardrobe and, let's not forget, the season of gifting is just around the corner!
Set to arrive in-stores mid-November 2017, the Loewe x William Morris capsule collection will be available at selected Loewe boutiques worldwide including the Pavilion KL store.
