Curated Lady Dior As Seen By exhibition pieces have landed in Kuala Lumpur after touring fashion capitals like Milan, Moscow, Tokyo and Berlin.

The world of fashion moves fast; we can go from micro bags to hobo bags in a blink with the larger-than-life pillow bags destined to be everywhere the next season. However, there are bags that detach themselves from this trending nature. <a href="https://www.lofficielmalaysia.com/fashion/lady-dior-as-seen-by-exhibition-pavilion-kl-2022-pop-up-store">Lady Dior</a> is one of those true classics that&rsquo;s never defined by trend and season.
Dior first conceptualised the top-handled bag in 1994 and affectionately nicknamed it &ldquo;Chouchou&rdquo;, a French term to express fondness. Destined to be an icon, it landed on the arm of Lady Diana a year later as a gift from France&rsquo;s former First Lady Bernadette Chirac during her trip to Paris&mdash;and the rest is history.
As the "<a href="https://www.lofficielmalaysia.com/fashion/lady-dior-as-seen-by-exhibition-pavilion-kl-2022-pop-up-store">Lady Dior Pop Up</a>" space opens its doors this month in Pavilion KL, let's take a little trip to get acquainted with some of the masterpieces that are being shown in the pop-up space.

It was 1996 when Dior officially named the work of art &ldquo;Lady Dior&rdquo; in honour of Lady Diana, who adored the cannage- quilted bag so much and was rarely spotted without it. Lady Dior&rsquo;s elaborate details&mdash;from the geometric stitching and arched handles to the alphabet charms in a nod to Monsieur Dior and his belief in talisman&mdash;embody the divine savoir faire of the Maison. Meanwhile, its architectural silhouette and clean lines serve as an empty canvas that encourages the imagination to play.
A feminine archetype, Lady Dior has inspired many of the House&rsquo;s modern icons such as the Dior Caro, Dior Vibe and its younger sibling Lady D-Lite. Making its first appearance at Dior&rsquo;s Spring/Summer 2020 ready-to-wear show, Lady D-Lite comes in canvas, accented with Christian Dior signature and a matching shoulder strap that make it incredibly desirable for modern wardrobes. The design was dialled up a notch as Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri restyled it in full-of- life toile de Jouy embroidery and the Mizza print for Fall 2021.

To further Lady Dior&rsquo;s legacy of art empowerment, Dior initiated the Lady Dior As Seen By travelling exhibition and Dior Lady Art project, for which artists around the world are enlisted to express their culture and identity by reimagining Lady Dior bags into wearable objects of arts.
And after touring the fashion capitals including Milan, Moscow, Tokyo and Berlin, a curation of Lady Dior As Seen By exhibition pieces are landing in Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with the Lady Dior Pop Up in Centre Court, Pavilion KL. A tour de force of bag art created by Olympia Scarry, Wanda, Daniel Arsham, Alice Anderson Studio and Kenny Dunkan will be showcased alongside Dior Spring/Summer 2022 Lady Dior creations.
