Luke and Lucie Meier joins Jil Sander
Another week and we another new appointment in the fashion world: designers Luke and Lucie Meier, who is set to join Jil Sander.
A rarely seen team in the industry, the husband-and-wife duo has officially been named creative directors of the brand, effective immediately.
For those who might not know the duo, Luke Meier is the founder behind menswear label OAMC and was also the former head designer at Supreme, while Lucie Meier has worked with the likes of Louis Vuitton (under Marc Jacobs), Balenciaga (under Nicolas Ghesquiere) and Dior, where she co-designed the interim collections post Raf Simons and pre-Maria Grazia Chiuri.
Now part of the Jil Sander family, the duo will work together to helm both womenswear and menswear collections and will debut in Resort 2018.
Moving forward, the duo will be presenting co-ed runway shows on the women’s fashion week calendar.
On their appointment, Luke and Lucie say, "We feel proud and honoured to join this beautiful brand. To be able to work on this side by side makes this opportunity even more special to us. We hope to show the affection we have for this brand through our work, as Jil Sander has had such a profound influence on our paths."
