Nike and Swarovski join forces for the new Air Force 1 LXX
Presenting the new Nike crystal-encrusted Air Force 1s by the famous streetwear brand and the Austrian crystal maison.
You know, jewels aren't just a girl's best friend. Nike and Swarovski, an unlikely pair, have joined forces to create the Air Force 1 LXX.
The crystals, hailing from a company born in Bohemia more than 100 years ago, enrich Nike's iconic Air Force 1, a product that has become both mainstream and iconic at the same time.
These trainers, with retroreflective crystals, represent innovation in an unprecedented collaboration inspired by street lights. Rather than the city's overhanging bulbs, the same streets will be illuminated by 228 crystals that embellish Nike's Air Force 1s.
There are two colourways available: Triple White and Triple Black. Furthermore, with the use of a screwdriver, supplied by Nike, it is possible to remove and/or modify the design of crystals as desired.
Swarovski enters into Nike's urban universe, two parallel worlds that seem to blend perfectly to create a unique message.
Marie Crow, Creative Director of Nike's Urban Women's Footwear, stated, "With this partnership, we have explored the limits of the impossible to shine, reflect and innovate through design, production and development."
The bejeweled sneakers are the first peek at Swarovski's future endeavors, one that will lead us toward fresh, unexplored realities.
Aiming at a new brand identity, the brand has appointed, for the first time, a creative director, Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert. The move signals rebirth and evolution for the most famous crystal house in the world.
