What's inside the Burberry Imagined Landscapes in Jeju Island
Burberry blurs the lines between nature and technology, the indoors and outdoors, the real and the imagined.
Continuing as part of Burberry's series of inspirational pop-ups across the globe, the British fashion house has now taken over Jeju Island in Korea with the new Imagined Landscape experience.
This is a space that Burberry has created to showcase its latest outerwear silhouettes whilst blurring the lines between nature and technology, the indoors and outdoors, the real and the imagined.
With that concept in mind, Burberry built a topographic mirrored sculpture that sits at the foot of the majestic Halla mountain to create an ephemeral space that reflects the stunning landscapes of Jeju through its architectural build.
This Imagined Landscape experience is created to allow everyone to discover the brand's heritage in outerwear and encourage people to embrace the outdoors and explore new spaces and places.
Overlooking Sanbang mountain and the South Shore, a viewing platform atop the design allows visitors to enjoy the breath-taking vista before entering the mirrored structure itself.
Within, you will find an innovative space where the digital and physical elements interact with one another.
One of the highlights includes a room featuring an immersive experience with cinematic films created by three artists Maotik, Cao Yuxi, Lia Jiayu, where visitors can interact with the unique worlds the artists have created, each rooted in the great outdoors, through the screens inside the room.
Of course, you will be able to find the latest Burberry collections, which focuses on new reinterpretations of the iconic trench coat by Riccardo Tisci that uses the new revolutionary gabardine material.
Once you are done exploring the space and the fashion, you can head over to Thomas's Cafe, the first-ever Burberry cafe experience to launch in South Korea.
Painted in signature house motifs like the Burberry animal kingdom and light beige colour scheme, the cafe has a delectable local-inspired menu created by pastry chef Justin Lee from JL Dessert Bar.
South Korea's biggest celebrities and personalities including ITZY, Wi Ha Joon, Lee Da Hee, Cha Eun Woo and more had also flown into Jeju in style to celebrate the opening of this Imagined Landscapes space.
As part of Burberry’s ongoing commitment to lead positive environmental change for a more sustainable future, the brand will support the continuing preservation of Jeju Island through a five-
year partnership with the non-profit organisation Jeju Olle Foundation.
The Imagined Landscapes experience will be certified carbon neutral in line with Burberry’s commitment to reduce the environmental impacts of its presentations.
