Phoebe Philo is back in action and set to launch her own label

After leaving Céline in 2017 she disappeared from the radar to get her Phoebe Philo Studios in London on track. Here she is ready to launch her eponymous brand in September 2023 thanks to the support of LVMH. For Phoebe it is essential to start an independent path, which allows her to rejoin her fans scattered in the four corners of the globe

Phoebe Philo is officially making a fashion comeback as she unveils her eponymous label's new Instagram account (@phoebephilo) this week.

This marks Philo's new project with LVMH that is set to officially launch in September 2023 and you can pre-register your interest for the brand on its official website www.phoebephilo.com from July 2023 onwards.

At the beginning of 2020 there were already rumors that Phoebe Philo had not yet finished her career in fashion. Now, that call has been answered, with The Business of Fashion announcing that after a three-year hiatus from fashion, Philo will be back.

This time at the helm of Phoebe Philo Studios, a clothing and accessories label "rooted in exceptional quality and design". Here's what we know so far.

Phoebe Philo Studios: What We Know

LVMH has reportedly acquired a minority stake in the new brand's stake, leaving room and decision-making freedom for the British designer. Since she left Céline in 2017, the fashion world has been fervently awaiting her return, so much so that she has been dedicated an account on Instagram that is very popular with fans and insiders: @oldceline.

“Being in my studio and getting back to drawing once again has been exciting and incredibly fulfilling,” Philo said in a statement shared with BoF. "I can't wait to get back in touch with my audience and the people who have followed me. To be independent, to govern and to experiment on my own terms is hugely meaningful to me."

Speculation that she would take over from Chanel or inherit the role of Creative Director from the late Azzedine Alaïa. This news, however, seems much more apt for Philo's DNA as a trend-setting designer.

“I have had a very constructive and creative working relationship with LVMH for many years. So, it's a natural progression for us to reconnect with this new project," he added, with LVMH chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault describing Philo as "one of the most talented designers of our time," noting: "I'm very happy to partner with Phoebe in her entrepreneurial venture and wish her much success."
