The creative director of Givenchy for over 12 years, designer Riccardo Tisci is set to join Burberry as the new chief creative officer.

Effective 12th March 2018, Riccardo will replace Christopher Bailey as the creative head for the British label and this happened just a short week after Christopher's last Burberry show at London Fashion Week.

For his role, Riccardo will officially be moving his base from Paris to London as he oversees the creative direction for all Burberry collections and is set to debut his first Burberry show in September 2018.

A designer with a knack for high fashion streetwear, Riccardo's appointment is one that most might have missed, amidst the heavy speculation of Phoebe Philo for the role.

Looking at the recent Gosha Rubchinskiy x Burberry collab, Riccardo's appointment is definitely a great choice for Burberry, who is moving to a new direction this year.

"I am honoured and delighted to be joining Burberry as its new Chief Creative Officer and reuniting with Marco Gobbetti. I have an enormous respect for Burberry's British heritage and global appeal and I am excited about the potential of this exceptional brand."
